Crabtree Falls Triptych
Crabtree Falls Triptych chronicles the composer’s journey to this iconic landmark in the western part of North Carolina. The work is divided into three parts: the trail leading to the falls, a rain storm encountered en route, and the arrival at the falls. This is a commissioned concert band arrangement of the original saxophone ensemble version.

The Oxbow
The Oxbow is a programmatic work for band depicting Thomas Cole’s 1836 painting that is known by the same title. The painting depicts the Connecticut River as seen from Mount Holyoke near Northampton, Mass. This piece portrays four parts of the painting: (1) the churning, violent thunderstorm (2) the renewed, lush forest after the storm has passed (3) sailing on the river (4) the sunny farmland and surrounding hills.

The Belfries of Ghent
As the title suggests, the inspiration for this concert band piece comes from the many spires found in the city of Ghent, Belgium. The themes suggest the majesty and beauty of these structures during the day and in the evening. A theme showcasing the internal mechanisms that govern the clocks and tolling bells is also included. The full complement of percussion and orchestration ensures a fulfilling performance by large and small bands alike!

46 American Chorales for Band
This collection of 46 historic chorales by 25 American composers is flexibly arranged into SATB harmony for concert band! A variety of key signatures and time signatures is utilized, and historical anecdotes about the composers are included. Aboard the Galleon depicts a voyage on a galleon, complete with the sounds of heavy rigging, rolling seas, and a thunderstorm! At least six percussionists will be required, though the parts can easily be divided and shared among a larger number of players at the director’s discretion.
